On Thursday, we completed our composting and also continued our discussion on what we can be doing to help the environment, and watching The Lorax to build on our discussions about being heroes in our community and heroes for the environment.
We finished our 7 Habits of Happy Kids reading and will be looking at individual books on each of the characters.
We have been working with Lively Letters to help us polish our letter sounds as well!
Looking into next week and the newly fallen snow, please ensure that students have their indoor shoes to keep our hallways clean and dry. Please also make sure they are dressed warmly enough for fresh air breaks!
Our rehearsals for Press Start will continue to take place this week, sometimes during music, lunch, and our integration time with the 5/6s. Look out for costume item requests!
We are looking forward to the Calgary Transit presentation on Tuesday morning and our field trip on the bus! Please make sure the field trip forms are returned!
Next week, we will be looking at things that we see, think, and wonder before we read a book.
Math groups continue to work towards individual goals, including tallies, skip counting, fact families, regrouping, place value, etc.
On Wednesday, November 28th, we will be having our next Spirit Day, Moustache Day! All are invited to wear a silly, crazy, or funny moustache in support of bringing awareness to men’s cancer.
The term “Movember” was generated as a hybrid from “Mustache” and “November”. It was coined in Australia at the end of the 90’s as a symbol for raising awareness on men’s health, with a focus on testicular cancer, prostate cancer and mental health issues such as depression. The foundation behind this initiative is Movember.org.
Next week, we will be starting to do our compost pickup twice a week!
